The latest designer kids' fashion collaborative collection to hit the high street
Julia as a toddler, and now
River Island has teamed up with model, and creative director of lifestyle mummy blog Romy and the Bunnies, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, to launch a kids' fashion collection for autumn winter 2016. The range will comprise 30 pieces, for ages from newborn to five years old.
Romy and the Bunnies is named after Julia's daughter, 'Romy'. You might recognise Julia's name, even if you haven't come across her website, yet, since her mother is the former French Vogue editor, Carine 'Roitfeld'. Style credentials? Errr, tick!
“My mum had so much fun dressing myself and my brother when we were little and now I am doing the same with Romy. I just want other parents to be able to have the same fun!” Julia Restoin-Roitfeld
Following high profile collaborations for it's adult ranges with stars including Rihanna, this is the first collaborative childrenswear collection that River Island now has tucked neatly under it's fashionable belt. The fact that it is with fashion royalty, rather than a flash-in-the-pan celeb, speaks volumes. This will be certainly be a collection to snap up.
Inspiring childhood imagery...
The #RIMINIXJULIARESTOINROITFELD collection, for boys, girls and babies, is inspired by Julia's own childhood wardrobe, and that of her brother Vladimir.
Being French, there is obviously a splash of 'Breton stripe' thrown in over a jumper, alongside lots of frilled Peter Pan collars, black and white check print, denim (dungarees, yay!), an embroidered bomber jacket, and brogue style boots (yes, there are shoes, too! *swoon*).
The collection will launch to shop at River Island in October 2016 - so add it to your diary, now.
